Palestinian Soccer League (Embroidery)

Palestine's national football team was not present at the 2022 World Cup, however, the Palestinian flag was the most waved flag during the tournament.

Dating onwards from the early 1900's, Palestinians played football (soccer) on streets, in schools and clubs. In 1948, the destruction of war and the illegal occupation of Palestine brought an end to many Palestinian sports clubs as people were exiled from their cities.

Palestinian footballers are targeted as a way to destroy their dreams. The strength and resistance of the Palestinian people is something that can never be taken away. Palestine's first ever amputee football team was formed in Gaza in 2021 and consists of players who were victims of attacks conducted by Israel.

We created this design in honor of the Palestinian children who once filled leather balls with pieces of cloths in order to play the sport and in honor of the Palestinians who dream of playing football in a free Palestine.
