We Will Return (Embroidery)

Sana3ood (سنعود) hand written in Arabic meaning we will return. The key represents the 1948 Nakba where over 700,000 of Palestinians were expelled from their homes. Over 500 cities were ethnically cleansed, renamed and re-created to create the illegal state of Israel. Palestinians were forced to leave everything behind but one thing many held onto, was the key to their homes. The keys of their homes have been passed down generation to generation as a reminder that we will return. Palestinians will return and open the doors to their homes using the key they have held onto since 1948.
